Design Engineer / Konstruktør
Triplex is a manufacturer of hydraulic deck machinery for the marine, fishery and offshore industry with offices in Norway and Chile. We have recently received several international contracts for deck machinery packages to research, fishery and offshore vessels.
Our ambition is to launch minimum two new products per year. In 2011, we launched six new products, applied for two new ERP´s and received patent for one new product.
We are experiencing a considerable growth and wish to strengthen our design department with a new Designer.
Experience:
The candidate should have a minimum of 3 years Design and CAD experience in Offshore / Marine/ Ship-building domains. Knowledge of Solidworks, Hydraulic systemss, Cranes, Winches and Deck Machinery in general would be a plus to the candidate. Experiance with certification requirements, Offshore- and Solas crane regulations and Interaction with class societies (ABS, DNV etc.) would also be desireble.
Design Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager and responsibilities will include:
• Design calculations for Cranes, A-frames, Safe Deck Equipment, etc.
• New Product Development, specially within the offshore segment
• 3D modeling, drawing creation and generation of product using Solidworks
• Maintain proper revision control for the models/drawings
• Taking part in product testing
• Interaction with class societies for certification of the completed product design and documentation
• Preparation of Design/Design Verification documents
• Complete the assigned task in the given schedule
The position will include a thorough contact with international clients, such as ship-owners, ship-yards and ship-designers. The Design Engineer will be responsible for managing both national and international projects. The candidate should have good analytical, communicational, planning and language skills. The position will require some travelling.
